It’s a day of celebration for PARK. Still in it’s infancy stages, the Baltimore-based publication has reached 100 followers on Instagram. “I use to just scroll through Megan Thee Stallion’s feed,” says editor-in-chief Justice Gray. “But once I realized I could use Instagram to also promote PARK., we’ve been pouring time and effort into establishing a following there.” The publication launched earlier this year on April 10th (4/10), paying homage to Gray’s hometown of Baltimore. “I just thought that was the perfect day to start this journey,” says Gray.

Since then, the publication has featured a bevy of projects and playlist on its website, parkmag.space. Most recently, PARK.’s 106 & PARK. playlist, a homage to the BET show of the same name, was welcomed to warm reviews as readers joined in nostalgia, re-watching old videos to songs such as 50 Cent’s “In Da Club,” Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love,” UGK’s “Int’l Player’s Anthem,” and more. “That was a lot of fun to curate,” says Gray when asked about the trip down memory lane. “Somebody asked me to put together a playlist of throwbacks, and 106 & Park was an era for so many people’s adolescence.”

As far as what’s to come next, Gray says students from PARK’s inaugural graduating class can expect their yearbooks in the coming weeks. “We’ve been running into some post-production delays,” explains Gray. “But we’re in the final stages of getting those out to the students and parents.” Gray says readers can also expect PARK’s “Ride With Me” and “No Rap on Sunday’s” playlists to launch this month in celebration of Black Music Month, as well as a return of the publication’s Follow Me Home segment. “There’s a lot of content on the docket for June,” says Gray in excitement.
