DAYLAN GIDEON • NOTHING WAS THE SAME

When I think about my favorite album, I think about where I was in life when it came out and how I felt when I first heard it. For me, music is about inspiration and getting me through life. The album that inspired me the most and got me through the most was Nothing Was The Same. That album came out at the beginning of my journey as an artist and I remember trying to mimic what Drake was doing and hope that one day I could make something that great. From start to finish, Drake takes you on a journey. I truly believe that's his best body of work. It's so relatable to any human. Whether you’re from the suburbs, the hood, or rich. We've all been counted out, and we've all felt like we had to overcome adversity, and we've all had relationship issues. The intro itself is arguably one of the best intros in rap history. I'd say my favorite song off that album is "Wu-Tang Forever." To me, that is a perfect song. From content to production the song is flawless. That project is Drake at his peak and I'l'l always come back to it when I need to be inspired.
